DESCRIPTION
The cartridge is intended for target designation, fire correction, and ignition of flammable targets. It effectively engages lightly armored ground targets at distances up to 1,000 m, emplacements and targets behind light barriers, infantry and vehicles at distances up to 2,000 m, and low-flying aerial targets at altitudes up to 2,000 m. The cartridge is fired from KPV, KPVT, PKP, and SKP machine guns, as well as IST-14.5 anti-materiel rifles. The bullet tip is painted red and violet.
